Captain Wyatt Cain had been away at war for eleven months. He longed to see his woman , his saving grace. His van pulled up to the palace gates and the gates opened. He nodded at the guards , they were smirking but why? He'd quiz them later but for now all he wanted to see was his new lover. Hoping she hadn't come to her senses and found a noble ,younger noble to take his place. He shook his head ,no that's not like DG. 

Especially after the weekend before he left. Finally given into the unresolved feelings they had for each other. She was scared of him getting hurt or worse. So scared to lose him it overided her fear of telling him how she really felt and she blurted out her love for him. She needn't be scared he told her and they kissed and made love. They spent that weekend together and only together at Finaqua. He felt guilty & selfish. What if he did die ? To have her go through what he went through with Adora. She calmed him stating it would have hurt worse having him die and NOT have had this short time together.

Now he headed down the halls so grateful that that weekend would not be their last . He was already  planning weekend getaways for two when he heard a crying infant. It was coming from DG's room. A baby ?! His ? Someone else's ? The guards smirks , of course ! They knew he was a father again before he did.

He slightly opened the door and peaked in. He smiled at the sight before him. DG ,in a rocking chair , nursing a blonde baby dressed in pink. A baby girl! DG was looking and cooing at her daughter unaware of Cain's presence. The little  girl was first to notice the person intruding on her feeding time. The infant stared at him and he at her. Both smiling. DG followed her daughter's gaze. She gasped. " Your alive! "

" Hey there , Princess. Well, Princesses. "Cain walked over and bended down on his knee. " She is - "

" Yours ,yes." DG choked up. " You left me a wonderful present. They couldn't find you to tell you. I feared the worst."

" Shhh..." He dried her tears. " I'm here now. I'm not gonna miss out on another day of - What did you name her ?"

" Alice Marie Gale - Cain. I thought she should have her father's last name."

" Alice. Hi there." Alice's little fingers wrapped around Cain's fingers. 

" You wanna hold your daughter ?'' 

Cain took his little princess in his arms. Alice stared at him with her blue eyes in amazement . She reached for his Tin Star pendant. " Thank you ,DG."

" Welcome Home." DG smiled.

And that's were he finally was he realized as Alice's arms opened for a hug. Home.


A/N : sorry for the shortness and  I named their kid after my favorite Twilight character, cause if they had a girl I believe she would be like Alice Cullen - Hale
