Azkadellia rushed into DG's room. " Wake up! I remember something the witch did. " She pinched DG's cheeks until DG groaned.

" Azzie you better be on fire or near death cause if you did that for any other reason ,sister or not.." DG moaned.

" We need to go see Zero! "

DG looked at her sister as if she had finally went over the edge. " Azzie ,are you possessed again ?"

" Funny and no. You don't understand. The witch did something to him. His actions may not have been his."

" What are you talking about?"

" I'm remembering stuff that she did and she definately did something to Zero. There's a way I can find out if what I'm dreaming is real. I need to see him or at least you need to check it out."

" I'll do it. What am I checking for ?"

" A mark on his shoulder of a dragon."

" Shoulder.Dragon. Got it. What does it mean ?"

" I ..." Az looked down ashamed. " It means something really bad happened to him. Take Raw with you. He'll show you if my fears are correct."

" Okay in the morning I'll take Raw and Cain with me."

" Cain?!"

" The man knows me too damn well. It's like he has Spiderman senses. ' DG's getting herself into trouble must protect her.' Very annoying ,mostly because it's true."

" Who's Spiderman? Anything like Tin Men?"

" A...It's an Other Side ...thing. Go back to bed. If he has thing mark we'll take it from there. Okay?"

''Okay." Az scammered back to her room.

DG looked at her open door. " You can show yourself ,Cain." She heard him mutter 'Damn it!'

Cain appeared in her doorway. " I'll go myself. Dragon mark. I'll look myself."

" No."

" Excuse me?"

" You heard me Cain. No. We go together or you don't go at all. I'll make sure your not allowed entry."

" You wouldn't."

" To save you from yourself I'd do a lot worse."

" I'm not gonna kill him. I had the chance and -"

" You put him in an Iron Maiden. A fate worse than death. What if she's right and the witch had done something to him?"

" I think it's just a nightmare she's having."

" What if it's not ?"

Cain bit his lower lip. " Go to sleep ,Princess. We are apparently going to a prison in the morning."

" Yes ,we are. Goodnight, Mr. Cain."

Cain closed her door and let out a heavy sigh. He headed to the library. When he entered he spotted Ambrose. " Hey there Zipper- , Ambrose. Question ?"

The rebrained Ambrose said. "I have an answer. Let's see if they match"

" Dragon marks or tattoos placed by magick, what do they mean?''

Ambrose paled . " Dark magic at it's finest or worst. Depends on how you look at it."

Cain sighed. " Do you know or not ?"

Ambrose walked over to a shelf. " Here it is Possessions , Human Puppets , and more Dark Arts by Tolkien Rowling. You'll find your answers in here, Sir Cain. Hope you like all nighters." Ambrose handed Cain the book.

" You've read this."

" Yes."

" So why don't you just tell me?"

" No fun in that.Some things you must learn yourself. I'll leave you alone. Happy reading." Ambrose chuckled and exited the library.

Cain made himself comfortable and turned on a nightlight. He flipped through the book. " Dragon marks....Hello what have we here? No ! Seriously! The son of a - "He threw the book across the room.

" Oww!"

' Since when did books 'Oww!' ' Cain reached for his gun but noticed the familar shadow. " DG? What in the hells?! Are you okay?"

" Well considering a book just met with my head ,yeah. " DG answered.

Cain sighed and turned on the light. He walked over to her and cupped her face in her hands. " You silly princess. A small bruise ,you'll live. Sorry. You should be in bed."

DG snorted. " Your such a do as I say not as I do person. I'm here for the same reason. I'm looking for answers. I'm guessing the answers are what hit my head. " She picked up the book and looked at the cover. " So I'm guessing you didn't like the answers."

" No. I really don't. "

" Well?"

" If he does have the mark....He needs to be released from prison and -"

" What?! Cain you can't be -"

" Page 457."

She looked at the page in question. " Ewww. Was pictures really necessary? Wow. Cain if this is true?"

" Then we need to track the pieces down and reunite him with it. We can't do that with him behind bars."

" Cain." DG hugged him. " You know I'd have to go with him."

" Not without me ,Kiddo." Cain hugged back.

" I wouldn't have it any other way."

" I won't bring Jeb. I don't wanna lie to him but to protect him I may have to ..for now anyway."

" I'm so sorry. '' She caressed his cheek.

Cain looked into her eyes. " Would you think less of me If I said I hope he doesn't have the mark ?"

" No. I understand it's easier to hate him if he did this all willingly."

" Yeah. Now both of us need to hit the sheets."

DG blushed.

" I didn't mean it like that. Good night ,Princess."

The next morning Zero is brought in to a room. He sees Cain , Raw , and DG. He grins. " You know don't you ?"

Cain groans inwardly. " Guards remove his shirt." They do and there on his shoulder is a red dragon tattoo. "Damn it! " Cain growls.

" Release him. " DG orders.

Zero walks up to DG and caresses her face. " I did it all for you , my little princess." Zero kisses her tenderly on her cheek.

Cain whacked Zero's hand away from her face. " Step away from the Princess."

DG looked bewildered. " You did this for me ? Why? How?"

" You were my princess - literally." Zero answered.

Cain's eyes twitched and DG looked even more confused.

Zero continued. " I was working undercover for the Mystic Man. I was doing it in your honor after that bitch killed you. She found out and well ,you know the rest."

Cain snorted. " I'll believe the possession ,you have the mark but seriously. Your princess." Cain looked at DG. She looked lost in thought. " DG ? "

" Leoben ?" DG looked at Zero.

Zero smiled. " Hey there ,Dot."

" Her name's DG. Princess to you ,Leoben."

Zero looked over at Cain. " You weren't always her protector. That title used to be mine."

" And what a great job you did." Cain rolled his eyes.

DG perked up. " DG and LZ !"

Cain looked at her oddly while Zero smiled. " Yes DG. You couldn't say Leoben so you called me Leo or LZ."

" I'm beginning to remember you. We took long walks and you always gave me ice cream. I had such a cru - " DG cut herself of at their shocked expressions. " Nevermind."

" Ah poor Tin Man. You look so sad . It just kills you knowing she wanted me first . " Zero smirked.

DG rolled her eyes. Wow five minutes he went without being an ass. That's a new record she thought.

Cain walked up to Zero and grabbed his shoulder and drove his nails in. " The three of us are going on a trip. You will not be left alone with her. You will not hurt her. Cause I'm gonna be right there . Watching your every move."

Zero smiled wickedly. " You just don't want me flirting with the princess. You must have noticed Cain how hot she looks in a dress. I've seen the pictures of her at these balls. The strapless red gown was my favorite. Showed of her delicious bre-"

BAM!

Zero's head met the desk. " Go ahead ! Dishonor her again! " Cain growled.

" Cain! '' DG pulled at Cain. " He's not himself. If you hurt him you'll regret it. Guards take him to his cell to get whatever he needs. He's to be kept in chains until Cain or I deem him safe."

The guards took Zero away. DG hugged Cain tightly. " Princess I'm sorry but the things he was saying. Nobody says those things about a great lady in my presence. "

DG smiled. " I didn't hear what he said but damn ,he knows how to get to you ,Boy Scout."

" Yes he does and he knows it. I allowed him to get to me. I played into his hands but I don't regret slamming his face. Long time coming."

" You worked for the Mystic Man ,could what he says be true ?"

" Unfortunately ,yes. He did mention once he had a spy but that the spy had gone missing. He knew the witch had found out. He said the man cared for a girl who had passed. Loyal , protective were some of the words he used for the man. I never once saw the connection."

" Loyal and protective. That could be used to describe you."

" Thank you ,Princess."

" Cain?"

" Yes." He breathed in her perfume.

" We're still hugging."

They seperated awkwardly. " Sorry ,Princess. Let's get back to the palace and prepare for our trip."

A day later DG met Cain and a shackled Zero on the ship that was to take them to the Northern Guild. Cain pulled DG aside." Okay for the first part of our trip we travel by ship. After our business in the North we travel by foot. When we reach the Western Guild I'll explain the rest of the journey."

" Thank you , Mr.Cain."

" Well aren't you two cozy ?" Zero said as he walked over to them.

Cain pulled DG closer to him. ' This is gonna be a long journey.'
